Little james is a preemie, he has all the characteristics of one too, lots of vernix and little veins near the skin surface. I have given him a real blotchy uneven skin tone.

As i am into realism i like to put everything pretty or not into my babies complexions, to me thats what sets them apart from ordinary dolls.

They are not all the same and each baby has it's own unique complexion, just like real babies. i like to capture the newborn look and i go to great lengths to do so, i am always trying new things to get that special newborn look. It is normally so fleeting that we as parents almost forget the details. So i want to capture that forever to remind us of how new life is always so precious and that we all have started out that way! Our children grow up and sometimes we need reminding of the fact that when we held them for the first time all we wanted to do was love them. And nothing else really matters.

I have put allot of time into just watching and looking at different real babies skin tones and characteristics, and having my 2 boys and 2 girls has helped me to get a good idea about how boys and girls are when they are born, and as i have still got a baby right now i am photographing and noting all her details, lots of things make her skin tones change and you can see that the temperature has a big role to play so i can even decide wether to do a hot or cold baby!!!  everangelbabies@bigpond.com
